You can view a mob’s leveling progress by using leather on it.

List of current levelable mobs:

  2. Banana ducks
  3. Deinonychuses
  4. Yutyrannuses

Mercat – Billey’s Mobs Add-on

Mercats spawn in lakes and rivers that aren’t frozen, and are tamed with raw piranha or sea pizza.
They can’t breathe underwater and will have to come up to breathe air, can survive indefinitely without water,
and can only be made to sit while on land — though like every mob in the add-on, you can use a stick to make them walk/swim around instead of following you.

Changing the Weather

If you use a nautilus shell on a tamed mercat, it’ll change the weather.
It’ll turn clear weather to a thunderstorm, and thunderstorms or rain to clear weather.

If in multiplayer, for this to work you need at least half of all online players to be next to a mercat that is currently changing the weather.
This can be achieved by either making the players each use a nautilus shell on their mercat,
or by having the players gather around one player’s mercat.

Sleeping Loot

You can sleep with a mercat by having one near you (not sitting) before you sleep.
When you wake up, the mercat will bring you a random sea-related item.

Other

They also obliterate groups of small fish, including piranhas, after being tamed.
By the way, fermented mercat milk will probably be used to craft mercat cheese in the future.

Duck

– General
Ducks spawn in lakes and rivers and are tamed with any kind of seedscarrotsmelon, or bread.

– Finding Items
After being tamed, if they’re not sitting, they’ll find random items in grass and water, mostly seedsfishing loot, and rarely ore nuggets (including diamond nuggets).

– Duck Armor
You can also craft armor for them. Ducks equipped with armor will defend their owner, and to take off the armor, use dirtEnd rod duck armor makes the duck shoot end rods at its target that inflict weakness.

– Rubber Ducky Pet Hat
The Rubber Ducky pet hat is an item rarely found by ducks in water. It can be equipped on any pet from this add-on and makes it more likely to “combo” (hit its target without getting hurt back). It also enables pets that don’t usually fight for you to fight for you anyway, just like any piece of pet equipment that makes the pet stronger does (currently just this and the rat crown).

– Leveling
Ducks can be leveled up. To level up ducks, you have to make them kill mobs (by equipping the duck with armor and then attacking mobs). When a duck levels up, its health, attack damage, speed, and reach increase. Leveled ducks will also find items in grass and water more often, and from level 5 and onwards, the items they find will also start becoming better.

Mobs that level up by killing things progress through leveling more by hitting mobs than by just killing, which means that to level up your mob faster, make it kill mobs with lots of health. The default level is 1 and the max is 10.

  • You can put the hat on it, you can take it off by attempting to put another hat while it’s already wearing one
  • 2.5 hearts attack damage
  • Neutral
  • Look funny when they are angry
  • Can be tamed, tempt, bred and healed using sea pizza
  • Ice Cream
    • If you put a pet hat on a penguin and give it sugar, it’ll make you an ice cream, ice cream gives you a few beneficial effects, and is even more powerful in warm biomes and in the nether However in cold biomes it gives you detrimental effects instead
  • Penguin Boots
    • Penguins also randomly shed feathers with which you can craft penguin boots which give you lots of speed on snow and ice, especially on ice, and even more on packed and blue ice, as well as a little bit of speed on sand

  • Use the info book to get this information in-game
  • 1.5 hearts health.
  • 0-1.5 hearts attack damage with slowness 1 for a second.
  • 2 main variants

  • They aren’t attacked by any mob but other mobs might kill them over self defense.
  • The fish sword can be used to kill 5 at them at the same time like cod.
  • When they attack a mob it will never be killed instantly but when it dies piranhas will either collect or eat its loot so the ocean doesn’t get littered. They also eat dropped food items
  • Afraid of mercats
  • Several rare variants
  • Drop raw piranha and sometimes a few items from the addon

Banana Duck

– General
Banana ducks spawn in beachesdeserts, and basically anywhere where there’s sand. They are tamed with bread.

– Bananas
After being tamed, you can feed them an apple to get a “desert banana”. Desert bananas give you random amplifier II beneficial effects and can be fed to any tamed mob in the add-on. Eating a desert banana also gives you a banana peel, which can be placed down and when something steps on it, it’ll lose 12 HP (6 hearts) and get slowness and nausea for a few seconds. This means 2 banana peels are enough to kill most monsters and even players not wearing armor.

Banana peels don’t affect players and tamed mobs by default, but you can craft ones that affect players using a single regular one.

– Duck Armor
You can also craft armor for banana ducks. Banana ducks equipped with armor will defend their owner, and to take off the armor use dirtEnd rod duck armor makes the banana duck shoot end rods at its target that inflict weakness.

– Leveling
Banana ducks can be leveled up. Aside from their health and attack damage increasing, leveled banana ducks will also become able to turn more items into sand bananas instead of just apples.

  • From level 5 and onwards: they can use sweet berries.
  • At level 7: they can use poultry oranges.
  • At level 10: they can use melon slices.

The default level is 1 and the max is 10.

– How to Level
To level up banana ducks, you have to make them kill mobs (by equipping the banana duck with armor and then attacking mobs). Mobs that level up by killing things progress through leveling more by hitting mobs than by just killing, which means that to level up your mob faster, make it kill mobs with lots of health.

Banana ducks also level up by making bananas, but the amount of XP this gives decreases every level.

– Other
There are also secret variants of banana ducks. Try breeding them in strange places or doing something with the other birds in the add-on.

Rat King – Boss – New!

– General
The Rat King is a boss that can be obtained from rats. It looks like 5 rats2 netherrats, and a fat crowned rat, all tied together at the ends of their tails.

⚠️ Beware: This fight is much harder than the Duck Centipede.

It drops 2 items on death:

  • rat crown
  • rat royal chef hat

Both can be equipped on rats to make them more useful.

– Summoning
To summon a Rat King, you must:

  1. Tame 5 rats and 2 netherrats, all of different variants.
  2. Make them sit close to each other.
  3. Sacrifice them by getting them struck by lightning.

💡 Recommended method:

  • Place a lightning rod (made from copper) where the rats are.
  • Use a trident enchanted with Channeling during rain to summon lightning.

Once struck, the rats will disappear, and the Rat King will be summoned.

– Spoiler-Free Tips
⚠️ Do not summon a Rat King inside your house — it will kill most of your pets.

💪 Bring a strong pet (Yutyrannus of any level or any level 10 pet) to the battle. However, your participation will still occasionally be needed.

🗡️ Bring a variety of weapons to adapt to different stages of the fight.

– Rat Crown
The Rat Crown can be equipped on any pet to make it:

  • Summon temporary rats in battle.
  • Act as armor for rats, reducing incoming damage to 25% of normal.

Additionally, summoned rats can steal mobs’ equipment and randomly enchant it, just like normal rats.

– Rat Royal Chef Hat & Rat Potion
The Rat Royal Chef Hat can be equipped on rats and netherrats to make them brew rat potions.

To brew a rat potion:

  • Give a rat an empty bottle.

The rat potion can be thrown to temporarily turn mobs into useless rats, which is especially useful against monsters (like creepers).

⚠️ Note:

  • It doesn’t work on tamed mobs or mobs with 100 HP or higher (such as bosses).

– Advanced Tips for the Rat King Battle
🔥 Attack the chefs while they’re cooking to stop them from making dangerous potions.

Some potions can:

  • Debilitate your pets by turning them into useless rats for 10 seconds.
  • 💡 Killing these “useless rats” will instantly bring your pet back unharmed.

Duckatrice (Pet) – New!

– General
Duckatrices are big, flying ducks that do not spawn naturally. To get a Duckatrice, you must kill the Duckatrice Boss and use the “Duckatrice Amber” it drops on a level 10 duck of yours.

The Duckatrice’s main use is being a flying ride. Duckatrices are always tamed and can be healed with anything ducks (like seeds, carrots, etc.) or yutyrannuses (meat) can eat.

📖 Read the Duckatrice Boss’s info book entry for how to summon it.

– Obtaining
To obtain a Duckatrice:

  1. Summon and defeat the Duckatrice Boss to get Duckatrice Amber.
  2. Use the Duckatrice Amber on a level 10 duck to transform it into your own pet Duckatrice.

💡 Important Notes:

  • Duckatrices are not an objective upgrade — they don’t find items in grass and water like ducks do.
  • All data from the original duck will carry over — including owner, nametag, equipment, and equipment color.
  • The Duckatrice will be the same variant as the duck that transformed into it.

– Riding
To ride your Duckatrice:

  1. Equip it with a saddle.
  2. Right-clicklong tap, or press the “Ride” button to mount it.
  3. To remove the saddle, try placing another saddle while it’s already equipped.

🚀 Flying Controls:

  • Jump or fall from a height to start flying.
  • Look up to go up, look straight to fly forward, and look down to descend.
  • Duckatrices have limited stamina for flying upwards — unless boosted with sweet items.

– Boosting
While riding your Duckatrice, you can boost its speed by feeding it sweet items from this add-on (desert bananaspoultry orangespenguin ice cream, etc.) or rat beer/warped wine.

🍬 Boost Details:

  • Length and strength of the speed boost depend on the item.
  • Higher-level Duckatrices get stronger speed boosts.
  • While boosted, Duckatrices can fly upwards freely without stamina constraints.

– Duckatrice’s Stare Effect
If you pet your Duckatrice (sneak right-click/long tap with an empty hand), you’ll:

  • Lose 1 experience level.
  • Have your helmet temporarily granted the Duckatrice’s Stare effect.

👁 Stare Effect:

  • Damages mobs angry at you when you look at them.
  • Higher-level Duckatrices grant stronger stare effects.

– Leveling
Duckatrices can level up by killing mobs. As they level up:

  • Health and attack damage increase.
  • Certain abilities (like speed boosts and stare effects) improve.

⚔️ Leveling Tips:

  • Mobs level faster by hitting high-health mobs rather than simply killing.
  • Newly transformed Duckatrices start at level 1 and can reach level 10.

Giraffe Cat – New!

– General Giraffe cats spawn in savannas and can be tamed with raw or cooked fishchickenhamster, or with leaves.

– Throwing Pets When a tamed giraffe cat has a target and there’s a nearby tamed pet belonging to the same owner, it will pick up and yeet the other pet at the enemy. If the thrown pet hits the target, it will:

  • Deal damage on impact
  • Continue to attack the target, even if it normally doesn’t defend its owner

🐾 Note: Pets that are sitting will not be yeeted.

– Living Ladder If you use a ladder on a giraffe cat, it will extend its neck and let you use it as a ladder. You can:

  • Increase its ladder height by using a ladder while not sneaking
  • Decrease its height by sneaking while using a ladder

📏 Max ladder height: 64 blocks

After you climb above your giraffe cat, it will teleport to you and return to normal, even if it was sitting. 💡 If you don’t want it to teleport, either:

Commands Billey Mobs

Need to clear out mobs without hurting your pets? Use specialized command system:
🧹 Mass Cleanup: /kill @e[tag=!tamed]
What it does: Kills all non-tamed mobs from this addon (and Vanilla cats/fish).

⚠️ Caution: This WILL still affect Vanilla wolves, horses, and pets from other addons.

Pro Tip for Precision: To target a specific species without hurting your pets, add a type selector:
👉 /kill @e[type=billey:duck,tag=!tamed]

Changes to existing mobs

Cats have 5 new variants, spawn at jungles but still also spawn at villages. Raise and move their tail when you hold food, have a new walking animation and can be equipped with the bird hat.

Parrots can now have the colorful potion and the bird hat put on them and be fed sand bananas, also you can now heal them with seeds(preferably not the wheat ones) and they can no longer be killed using cookies.

See “Taming the fish” below
